Find out if Weight Loss Surgery is Right for You! Watch our online seminar.
Please note: Watching the seminar is a mandatory first step in pursuing weight loss surgery with our practice.
Many of your questions about the procedures, the risks and benefits of surgery, and insurance eligibility will be answered in our seminar. Please watch our 45-minute online seminar video, and take the short quiz afterwards. Clicking "submit" will send our office staff an e-mail notifying us of your interest. (Your information is secure – we do not share it.)
After you have watched the online seminar, Step 2 will be to give us some health and insurance information through our secured health information management system, called Remedy EHR (Electronic Health Record). Registering with Remedy EHR will take approximately 10 minutes and does not obligate you to any fees, nor to proceed with office visits or surgery. Information you enter in Remedy EHR will help our clinical office staff determine your eligibility for weight loss surgery.
Begin your physician-supervised weight-loss trial by making an appointment with either your primary care provider, or with Dr. David Martin, our Weight-Management and Nutrition Specialist. Most insurance carriers require a supervised weight-loss trial lasting anywhere from 6 to 12 months as a prerequisite to pre-approving the surgery. The weight loss trial must be documented by a physician and must include several specific items in your medical record. Learn more about supervised weight loss trial under the "What to Expect" tab.
Once our office staff members have confirmation that you have completed Steps 1 and 2, they will review your health and insurance information. While you make arrangements for your Supervised Weight Loss Trial (Step 3), all you need to do is to listen for a call within 72 hours from one of our staff members. Once they have verified your insurance eligibility, they will set up your one-on-one consultation with Dr. Lord. If you do not meet the clinical criteria for weight loss surgery, we will suggest other options for weight management.
